Sock It to Me is seeking a Marketing Project Manager to join our dynamic team and work at the best little company in the world! (Well, we think so, anyway.)

Summary

Leads the daily executional details of Sock It to Me marketing projects to ensure key milestones and deliverables are met in a timely manner. The Marketing Project Manager takes a key role in planning, alignment of marketing team on objectives and plans, updating and maintaining schedules and project plans and information, reviewing and approving deliverables and milestones, and rallying the team in creative collaboration. Excellent communication skills, experience leading people, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are essential.

This is an exempt position that reports to the Senior Marketing Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead team alignment and daily executional details of marketing & communications calendar; motivates and leads team members individually and collaboratively to achieve performance goals.
  • Proofread and review department deliverables
  • Assist in drafting and aligning team on project briefs, deliver projects on time ensuring quality standards are met
  • Update and maintain communication schedule and project management tools
  • Executional reporting and analysis including expense reporting

JOB DUTIES

  • Lead team alignment and daily executional details of marketing and communications calendar. Works closely with Sr. Marketing Manager on briefs and project objectives and timelines to develop and execute project plans at a detailed level. Responsible for the daily management and smooth operation of multiple digital and print projects, including site launches and updates, collateral creation, online tools, reports, web applications and advertising campaigns.
  • Motivates and helps to guide team members individually and collaboratively to achieve individual and team performance goals throughout the execution of various projects.
  • Proofread and review deliverables at key milestones for marketing team projects, including copy, digital advertising campaigns, web design, development and UX deliverables, print design, reports, product data, and more. An in-depth understanding of modern digital and web-based technology that can help the marketing team achieve business goals is required.
  • Update and maintain project management tools, including TeamWork Projects, creative and website request forms, google sheets, and other internal tools. Scope project requirements from briefs, strategic plans, and direction from Sr. Marketing Manager. Develop a detailed project plan and monitor progress, update project management tools to reflect the scope, plan, and executional details.
  • Understand and adhere to budget from Sr. Marketing Manger; including expense reporting and analysis on actuals.
  • Assist in drafting and aligning team on project briefs. Ensure clear communication on objectives and deliverables with marketing team. Collaborate with internal teams to design, develop and implement digital projects. Communicate with the team and ensure all members are on board with delegated tasks.
  • Develop, update, and maintain internal support documentation including process, policy, and team/company specific standards, considerations or customizations as related to Marketing public facing digital products, campaigns, or internal tools.
  • Assist the Sr. Marketing Manager in managing project workflows and relationships with agency partners.
  • Seek opportunities for improvement and suggest new projects and growth opportunities for team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises other members of the marketing team in the details and timely execution of marketing projects, including proofreading, deliverable review, workload management, and daily operational activities. This position does not supervise the team in hours and PTO approval or performance evaluation but will make recommendations and suggestions to the senior marketing manager in those areas. As a team lead, this position requires the ability to understand and work with different communication styles to ensure alignment, collaboration, and motivate team as a group and individually.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B. A., B.S. or B.F.A.) from four-year College or university in Business, Marketing, Web Design, Public Relations, or related field; plus 3 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Job requires excellent verbal and written English communication skills. This role is responsible for inter and intradepartmental alignment, so the ability to communicate a variety of technical concepts in a variety of communication styles to ensure understanding is critical. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Job requires highly specialized computer skills. While mastery of all listed applications is not necessary, proficiency and understanding of the applications capabilities, concepts, extensions, interactions, and limitations are required in order to evaluate deliverables and create deadline conscious project timelines that are based in the realities of creating the work using the software. The applications include but are not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Experience Design (XD), in Copy, Dreamweaver), Modern browsers (some familiarity with Developer Tools), Microsoft Office, Web based applications like Google Suite, Google Analytics, Google Ads, MOZ, WYSIWYG form editors, some experience in terminal, some experience with version control / git, project management tools like TeamWork, BaseCamp, Trello, Pivotal, etc. Must be proficient in email marketing applications as well as other industry-standard applications. Understanding the principles and processes involved in web design, web development, print design, and digital marketing are required. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.   

TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS

Demonstrated ability to define, schedule and accurately estimate the task duration to develop and maintain a realistic schedule to ensure key milestones and project deadlines are met.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet all deadlines independently. Troubleshooting and problem solving are an essential function of this position. Strong follow through and personal responsibility are key. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
